The bills are:

Fair Tax Act of 2005 (Introduced in Senate)[S.25.IS]
This bill seeks to abolish the Internal Revenue Code and establish a 23% national sales tax. Now, where I'm from, we already pay nearly 10% in sales tax for EACH and EVERY purchase we make. If this idotic bill were to somehow pass, the poor would proportionally bear the burdern of the tax responsbility in the United States, which is just what the Republican aristocracy would like. I don't know about you, but I think our senior citizens, single mothers, and working families have enough to worry about without paying the taxes the rich don't want to pay. There is a house version of this bill, [H.R.25.IH], which is the same as the senate version.

Freedom Flat Tax Act (Introduced in House)[H.R.1040.IH]
This bill would open the option of paying a "flat tax", which is another way for the wealthy to pay fewer taxes than they do now.

Jobs and Growth Tax Relief Act of 2005 (Introduced in Senate)[S.7.IS]
This bill will make Bush's disasterous tax cuts, which heavily benefited the wealthy, permanent.

To make the repeal of the estate tax permanent. (Introduced in House)[H.R.183.IH]
The wealthy hate the estate tax. With a current exemption of $1,000,000, the estate tax affects less than 2% of taxpayers, yet our Republican friends would have us believe that any average joe who passes away will have his life earnings confiscated by the government. Another Republian argument, that farmers are hurt by the estate tax, is also false. Most farms are protected through special exemptions to the estate tax. Again, another way for the ulta wealthy to worm their way out of paying taxes.

We live in the greatest country in the world. Some would seek to exploit the resources of America without bearing the responsiblity of supporting the country. Can you guess which side our Republican leaders fall on?

Welcome to My Blog!

As I watch our country change (for the worse), I feel compelled to put my two cents worth on the Net for others to read. Make no mistake about it, I am NOT a supporter of the appointed King George or his entourage, and the purpose of this little piece of cyber real estate is to (hopefully) inform people about what is going on in the new American Aristocracy.

In the coming weeks and months, you can expect to see lots of posts here about what is going on in all three branches of our government and how it affects you. The biggest enemy of freedom is not a group of phantom terrorists but ignorance about what is truly happening in the world around us. The Republican majority is in fact depending on that ignorance to shove their ultra conservative agenday down the throats of an unsuspecting public.

So, whether you agree or disagree with what you read here, thanks for taking the time to find out a little about Political Sense and Other Things In Life You Can't Be Without.
